What working in a children’s role play village means to me
Opening mini Donington has been a dream of mine. One of my favourite parts of being an Early Years teacher was setting up the provision and watching children learn and explore through play. Bringing mini Donington to life has been so much fun. I can’t wait to see lots of families visit and enjoy a role play village built around the community I live in.

Special skills
Shopping! I have had so much fun purchasing all the toys, books and resources for children to enjoy. It didn’t end there either when I got to choose the cute mugs to serve a good cup of tea or coffee in.

My favourite area in the role play village
I do love the role play village but one of my favourite areas at mini Donington is our non-walker area. It’s so colourful and full of interesting toys and books for our
youngest children to explore. I think it’s important for new Mums to have a place to go, connect and watch their little one grow and develop. I wish that there were
places like these when I had my first child.

Interesting fact
My favourite part of being a teacher was planning around an engaging theme or topic. I’m so excited to bring that creativity into planning events and adapting our provision throughout the year. I have so many ideas for events and cannot wait to share them with everyone!

What working in a children’s role play village means to me
Working in a children’s role play village means being part of a magical place where children can explore, imagine and grow in confidence through play. I love helping to create a fun, safe and welcoming environment where children and families can make
happy memories together.

Special skills
Making a good cuppa, setting up engaging activities in speedy time, keeping everything clean and organised, and having a great eye for detail. I love making sure
all the toys and play areas are ready and welcoming for lots of fun role play.

My favourite area in the role play village
My favourite area at mini Donington is the construction area because it offers great opportunities for open-ended play and lots of learning experiences. I love seeing children use their imagination, problem-solve and work together as they build and explore.

Interesting fact
An interesting fact about me is that I come from a childcare background and love open-ended play and enjoy watching children’s imaginations grow.

What working in a children’s role play village means to me
Working in a children’s role play village means being part of something that really matters to families. As a parent myself, I understand how important safe, happy
spaces are for little ones and I’m so excited to be a part of it.

Special skills
I’m organised, quick, and hands-on – whether that’s setting up play areas efficiently, keeping everything clean and tidy, or making sure the kettle is on. I’m calm, practical and good at multi-tasking, also a great taste tester when you need one.

My favourite area in the role play village
My favourite areas would be the mini castle inn (me on guitar and my little boy on the drums) and mini Blues salon.

Interesting fact
Me and my two children always use imaginative play to learn and I love how it reminds me of my childhood! I always had the best imagination as a child and that’s
definitely rubbed off on my son.

My special skill is attempting latte art… even if it doesn’t always turn out quite how I planned.

My favourite area in the role play village
My favourite area to play in is our Mini Hair & Beauty Salon because I love getting my nails done and feeling a bit glam.
